additional Units 50% Off - Limit 4

Hi, all, is teher a way to do this.

My client wants to allow the customer the ability to buy up to 4 additional
units at 50% off of each.

The fist thing I tried was to use the ordering options and have an
add 1 (+29.95)
add 2 (+59.90)
Etc.

He said the fufillment house needed the additional items to appear on a
separate line the checkout and add a quantity to the orders database.

I then tried adding a new item to the cart "50% off additional units",
created the add to cart form and put it in the order options for the main
full price unit. This displayed fine in the cart, but when you clicked add
to cart, Shopsire returned a bad ayth file error.
I know I probably did a lame job of explaining what I'm trying to do, but
hopefully someone got it. I'm using Shopsite 7.0 Pro.

Thanks!

Andy

There is no way to do this in ShopSite since there is no way to limit
the number of products that a shopper may purchase.

You could create a coupon that gives the shopper 50% off after they buy
a certain quantity, but the 50% off would apply to all of the items
purchased after they meet the requirements of the coupon.

Is there a way to turn off the quantity field in the shopping cart?

Thanks!

Never mind. I think I have a nifty workaround.

Thanks again, Jim!

Andy,
If you have a 7.x Pro store you can prevent the quantity from being
changed in the shopping cart by checking the box at:

Commerce Setup > Order System > Shopping cart > Quantity can not be changed
