blank pages with custom templates

I noticed that some of my products that use default templates will be blank
if they are on a page with default template, and also exist on another page
with a custom template.

I tried to do a regenerate, but I still see blankness.

What is the problem?

Thanks

Some (if not all) of the custom product templates require VAR values
that ars set in the custom page templates. Since the default page
template is not a custom template the VAR will not be initialized. Scan
through the custom product template and see if there are any VAR values
that are being used but not defined within that template.

Thanks for your prompt response.
I think I know what I am doing wrong.
I am using the
[-- PRODUCT temporaryproducttemplate --]
in my page template to tell the product what template to use within my loop
products / end loop command. (This way I thought I would not have to set a
custom product template to all my products, but do it in the custom page
template as above). But, the products are now confused because they are
seeing this from custom page template with the above statement in it, and
also the default templates from the other pages. This only affects the more
info page.
How can I handle this?
Is there a way I can pass the page name to the product template and do a
test or something?
What do you recommend?

There is only one Moreinfo page generated for each product. It will be
generated the first time the product is placed on a page during a single
publish and will use the moreinfo page definition for the product
template that is in effect at that time. Here is an example. You have
the product assigned to page1 and page2 (page1 being the first one you
added to your store and page2 being the second). You have the product
template override set to use the "temporaryproducttemplate" in page1 but
are not using that override in page 2. You publish the entire store
using Utilities > Publish > Regenerate. The moreinfo page for the
product will use the definition found in the "temporaryproducttemplate"
since that is the first template used for the product during the
publish. Now if you make a change to page2 and publish using the
Publish tab the moreinfo page will be regenerated when the product is
placed on that page and the normal product template's moreinfo page
definition will be used.

The only way to ensure that the moreinfo page looks the same every time
a change and publish is made to the store is to use the exact same [--
DEFINE MORE_INFO_PAGE --] section in each of the product templates used.
