Order Editing

Again, another newbie observation.

It is my impression that ShopSite does not allow modifications to orders
once they have been submitted by the customer. In fact, it seems as though
I do not even have access to their complete charge card number.

I have found through a different platform that it is sometimes necessary to
make manual adjustments to orders. Special discounts, additional shipping,
last minute order additions.

Does anyone else other than me have these problems as well? What is the
philosphy behind not allowing edits to orders?

One way to manage order modifications is to get the Stone Edge Order Manager
for ShopSite (www.StoneEdge.com/OrderManager.htm). The Order Manager is a
complete system for managing orders, customers, inventory, shipping,
drop-shipping, CRM, and much more. It makes it easy to add, delete or modify
line items, change shipping methods and/or charges, etc. It can also capture
pre-approved credit card charges, issue credits, etc.

For more info, go to our Website or give us a call at the number below.

"I do not even have access to their complete charge card number."

This is only partially hidden in the View Orders screen in ShopSite v6.3
and newer if you are using a real-time payment gateway such as
Authorize.net, VeriSign, LinkPoint, etc. See the ShopSite Knowledgebase
at http://support.shopsite.com/kbase, search for S5476.

Shopsite is not a complete order processing program. Many users take the
initial order info from Shopsite and enter it into a shipping program such
as Barney's excellent program or an accounting program such as Quickbooks
for the actual order processing. As your number of orders grows you will
have to move up the chain of automation to increase processing efficiency.
Not having the complete credit card number is a security feature. The
feature can be changed to show the complete number.
