Gift Certificate Snafu

Postby Switch Hits » Mon Mar 01, 2004 2:16 pm

I recently received an order for $174,000 with $16,000 in
shipping charges from a customer by the name of "You've Been Had"
whose address was "Ha Ha Ha". He paid by Gift Certificate which
I added as a payment option with no authorization system in place
to prove the Redemption Code was legitimate, until after the
order was placed. I then used Stone Edge Order Manager for
checks and balances. I guess that idea isn't going to work any
more.

Anyone have a good Gift certificate program...either email or
snail mail...with control features?

Wow, well at least he didn't want to actually abuse your site or he
would have ordered a more legitimate looking quantity, possibly slipping
through the cracks. It is probably a good thing that he brings this
up... at leat you have a chance to fix it now.
