version 7: Customer logged out after checking out?

It seems that the customer is logged out after completing his order.
Is this the normal, expected, behavior? This is *not* a timeout. That
has a different symptom... I get a message telling me that I was logged
out due to inactivity.

I'd think that this is only a nuisance for the average user, but while
I'm debugging the checkout procedure I've made many passes through the
purchase-checkout loop (needing to be logged in) and I've had to
re-login every time.

Thanks,
Eddie

P.S. I appreciate everyone's helpfulness. I hope that someday I'll be
proficient enough to be helpful to somebody else!

Yes, logging out after completing the order is the expected behavior. This
is for security purposes. If someone did an order from a public computer
and walked away someone else could then access their information if they
were not logged out.
