Is there an answer to this ...
if its generate.cgi , how would I find the files in question and delete them
after the generate.cgi process is killed.

Try deleting update.dat, update_i.dat, progress.dat, progress_i.dat. See
the ShopSite Knowledgebase at http://support.shopsite.com/kbase, search
for S03847, this article may contain more ideas.

Could not open database file
/virtualhosts/premiersoccer.com/www/data/pages.db.

Please check the following items:

1) the path to the file is correct, and the file exists;
2) you have the proper permissions (rights) to access the file;
3) the Web server has permissions (rights) to create a lock file in the same
directory.

sysflags is a small binary file, generally only a few bytes big. But if
it is 0 bytes or missing, then you will definitely have a problem. There
should be one in the data.tar install file that you could extract if you
do have a problem with the existing one.

after working w/ the backend unix folks found out the group permissions were
mangled up due to drive failure. So, after setting the write web and
subfolder privs my problem went away. thanks for your help.
