ss7 Customer Registration

Hi,

I am building templates for my ss7 store and ran into a problem with
customer registration. Is there any way to provide a link to the sign in
page without going through the shopping cart? For instance, I would like to
provide a link to 'your account' in my header and link people to the sign in
page. Also, can we use the account information to personalize the pages,
such as a 'Hi Betty' sort of thing. I could probably use the minicart
javascript to see if there is an existing cookie and if there is, display
the named message, if not display a neutral welcome message.

Finally, are there any plans to have some sort of order history for
customers? Maybe not detailed, but something like: Order Status, tracking
number, etc. Perhaps for now I could figure out a way to use order api,
MySql and php to deliver that info.

Thanks in advance for your help...

Customer registration can only be accessed through the shopping cart.

Shoppers can see their past orders by logging in to their account
(through a shopping cart screen) and then clicking View\Edit Account on
the shopping cart screen and clicking the Orders button. There
currently is no Order Status, tracking number etc functionality available.
