Downgraded from Pro to Starter (Bizland messed up)

Bizland messed my account up and downgraded my subscription from Pro to
Starter. I was given advise on how to fix my problem from this forum
(thanks Jim & Loren), but Bizland still can't fix my problem. They are now
telling me that I need to back up my data so they can reinstall Shopsite for
me. Then i'll be able to upload my data back into shopsite.

My questions are: 1
1. Which files should I download / backup.
2. Should I see this as an opportunity to jump to a different host (I think
Bizland is still using version 6.1.3)
3. Should I buy the program instead of paying for it monthly?

Stan,

I'd use this as an opportunity to change hosts. In my opinion, it sounds
like Bizland doesn't have that much knowledge about running ShopSite, or you
never would have had the problems you're having.

I would recommend Lexiconn. I have several stores with them and they are
GREAT! I went through repeated problems with 3 different host until I found
Lexiconn (thanks to the posts here) and haven't had any problems since.

We have been using Lexiconn for a few years now and highly recommend them.
They are quick to respond to my questions, even on weekends, and are very
knowledgeable about ShopSite. They keep our Web store updated to the latest
ShopSite version, after doing their own testing.

Don't walk, run to Lexiconn!

After our previous host suddenly announced it would no longer upgrade
ShopSite, we started looking for a new host and moved to Lexiconn on the
basis of recommendations in this newsgroup. We have been with them about a
year and totally agree that they are outstanding. If you decide to change
hosts check Lexiconn out first. Depending on how your store is set up,
Lexiconn may be able to move it within 24 hours.
As for renting versus buying, there is not a clear cut answer. If you
are just starting out, renting is not a bad idea as it lowers your upfront
cost and gives you time to determine if retail is for you. Also upgrades
are usually included in the rental fee. The cost of a major upgrade can run
into the hundreds. Once you determine that you are going to continue with
your store, purchasing the license is probably best. Even with your having
to pay upgrade charges for major upgrades, it saves you money in the long
run.
