global change (sort)

I just upgraded from mgr to pro (6.3 on SGI ), i am not able to utilize the
sort and order by feature. if I utilize the power edit and choose the global
option 1) it does change all pages' sort attribute but 2) once you go to any
page they are not in price order. 3) if I do them manually they work.

Are you setting the "Order" option to either "Ascending" or "Decending"?

If that option is set to "none" then the other sort field have no
affect on the sort order.

When you published your store after making the changes did you use the
Publish tab that pops up or did you use the Utilities > Publish >
Regenerate? I was able to reproduct the problem if I just used the
publish tab but when I did a full regeneration it seemed to work ok.

Jim,
it seems like the pop up was the problem , the regeneration did solve the
problem, thx.

however the sort order on PRICE works off of orig. PRICE not SALE price.
What do you think, is this a bug or design feature?

The sorting is done on the Price field of the database. The Sale price
is a different field so it would not be use for the sort. So this would
be a design feature not a bug.
