Credit Cards

Postby David Clarke » Mon Oct 13, 2003 12:54 pm

Hi

We are thinking of turning on the automatic credit card processing features.

HOWEVER, what do we do if there is somthing that needs to be changed on the
order?

Like a product is out of stock, or the customer didnt select the correct
sales tax, or they call us and ask us to change the shipping to next day...
etc.

How are other people dealing with this??

Thanks

The Stone Edge Order Manager for ShopSite
(www.StoneEdge.com/OrderManager.htm) can help you with all of those issues.
Most of our users have their credit card charges pre-authorized in ShopSite,
then let the Order Manager capture the funds when they are ready to ship the
order. If you make any changes in the order (the Order Manager makes it easy
to deal with returns, exchanges, backorders and adding, deleting or
modifying line items) you can simply void the original approval and process
a fresh charge for the correct amount right at the Order Managers "virtual
credit card terminal"
(http://www.stoneedge.com/support/thevir ... minal.html).

We do the preauthorization in ShopSite and capture the final funds in
Authorizenet. If you do a Group Capture, Authorizenet places a box beside
of each order amount. If the final amount is less than that authorized, you
just input the amount that you need captured in the box. If the final
amount is more than that authorized, we use the Virtual Terminal and capture
the difference.
