password protection

Postby LMS » Tue Aug 26, 2003 5:02 pm

I sell both wholesale and retail, but my site is currently a retail site. I
need to create basically a duplicate "wholesale" site for resellers that is
password protected. In other words, when web surfers come to my first page,
they would have the choice to go to the consumer site, log in to the
wholesale site (with a user name and password) or request information on
setting up a wholesale account so that we can assign them a user name and
password. Any help?

Many thanks,
Lynn.

Well, you could put the "wholesale" site in a subdirectory of the
current site and password protect it with a .htaccess file but you would
have to manually edit who had access, which could be tedious.
