changing passwords

Postby Mark Raymond » Mon Jul 21, 2003 6:39 pm

Hi -

I'd like to change the password for my store, but when I try it, I'm getting
a message: "The old passwords didn't match!"

I read in the knowledgebase that, most likely, the password was changed
through some other means - not through the Shopsite interface. I imagine
that this could be true, given that I've had a good deal of work done by
others on my store.

How can I find out what my current password is and how can I change it?
Luckily, I've been able to access my store because the password has been
saved in my Windows log-on. (Of course, this would mean that I must have
had the correct password somewhere along the line, but what can I say...the
password that I think should work is not working.)

Thank you,
Mark

ShopSite uses the web server pasword mechanism so you could have your
webmaster or hosting provider reset the password outside of ShopSite. You
would then at least know what the password is that you should be logging in
with.

If you are hosted at a ShopSite partner they could then ask ShopSite support
for information on having ShopSite recognize the new current password when
attempting to change it from within ShopSite.
