I am considering adding PayPal to our list of acceptable payment methods
(already include VISA, MC, AMEX and Discover).

I would like comments from those who have experience with PayPal. I.E.
problems? satisfaction? frequency of use by customers? recommend PayPal?

Thanks in advance.

So far I'm not terribly excited about my results.

More often than not, people who select the PayPal method don't pay upon
checkout, like you will send the product and they will pay later. I spend
too much time sending emails to people saying I've cancelled their order, or
payment reminders, etc.

I would say we have had less than 1% of our customers use PayPal, maybe
less.

My biggest problem is that unlike credit card processing, where the order
doesn't go through until a an approval code is issued, with the current
PayPal integration, a client can place unlimited PayPal orders, receive an
order receipt and never pay for the product. You have to verify whether
payment was made on each and every PayPal order.

PayPal apparently has something called Instant Payment Notification which I
hope Shopsite will integrate in later releases. This could give you
validations on order payments etc. Maybe someone has figured out how to use
this in a custom API.

We use paypal as well and tend to get many good orders, but we do experience
alot of the same problems as Andy has had. Most of our 'bad' PayPal orders
come from international fraud attempts, and the occasional none payment.

I would like to see the IPN integrated in a release as well!
