Page Includes

Postby Jim Graham » Tue Dec 17, 2002 11:44 am

I have setup a template using MS FrontPage and have made use of the included
page content feature which is working very well. I was wondering if there
was a similar feature available in SS so that I don't need to cut and paste
HTML code into the text1 or text2 fields each and everytime I change one of
my pages.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks ... Jim

A custom page template would allow you to have that text on every page assigned
that template.

Thanks Loren,

My question is specifically about unique page content. I have created a
custom template using MS Frontpage and am using the Page Includes with great
success. This template will be used on all pages within our site to present
a consistent look and feel on ALL pages. I am also creating some additonal
content using MS FrontPage as my design tool that will be "unique" to a
given page. I would love to be able to just use an "Include" tag within
ShopSite so that as I change the page unique content using MS Frontpage and
then publish with ShopSite I don't need to cut and paste the HTML source
into ShopSite text1 or text2 fields.

There is no page include in ShopSite, but you if your server can support server
side includes in shtml pages or something, you could perhaps put that kind of
include code in a ShopSite text field.
