Identical Products on Separate Lines in Order

If a user selects "Add To Cart" twice on the same product, two entries
of Qty=1 are made on the Order. Is there a setting in Shopsite to
increment the Quantity of the same product, rather than creating a
duplicate line?

My application is a software store. I would prefer not to have multiple
download links presented to my customers. That's a bit clunky. Also I
am parsing the Order Email I receive. Having multiple lines of the same
products is making this a bit tricky.
