Associate links to track ShopSite 6 on OVERTURE.COM ?

With ShopSite 5 they banned us because the user cant
reverse out of the site using the BACK button on
the browser. That is ShopSite's affiliate links
behave like a "meta refresh" forwards.

Anyone tried ShopSite 6's affiliate links with
overture.com? (It turns out that Overture UK were
much tougher on this than the USA boys...)

We have used them with Overture to track our customers coming from there. We
currently use ShopSite Pro 4.3, yes we do need to upgrade.

We tried with US when Overture 6.0 first came out but without success.
System will not accept the code. We don't expect any changes now.

I will try it again but as I remeber it, Overture would not even accept the
shopsite affiliate link code - the system advised that the html link was
invalid.

I've just created a new one in ShopSite SC Pro v6,
and I notice that there's a very long "storeid":
e.g.
http://www.shiptonandheneage.com/cgi-bi ... rtureBoots

However every time you look at the URL in ShopSite
it changes both the storeid characters and also
the length.
- Does this mean we have to change the Associate tracking
URL every time we look at the Associate Link?

- Also anyone know if there's anyway to substantially
shorten this storeid thing. Maybe Overture doesnt
like its huge length?!

The storeid is encrypted (since ShoPSite 5.0). The encrypted string will change every time it is generated by
ShopSite, but always map back to your store's storeid. You can also use your plaintext storeid if you want, ShopSite
is backwards compatible.

Loren

Is there a risk involved if we just include the
storeID instead of that encrypted string?
If so perhaps you could explain... ?
