Discounting problem

Hi,

I would like to offer some products for sale at a standard 25% off the
retail price. I understand how to do that. My question is, because my site
has an existing progressive discounting structure 5-20% depending on the
value of the order, I'm concerned about the sale price being discounted. Is
there a way to offer products for sale not subject to the discount?
