Can someone send me the default product template, the one given on the help
file does not include information about how to include sub products and is
not as customizable as the one that is hidden within the code of shopsite
itself.

The default ShopSite templates and themes are not in the custom template
language, and in v6 and greater are compiled into a binary.

You will need to have ShopSite v6.1 or greater to use subproducts in custom
product templates.
