I spoke with Lexiconn today about the new USPS shipping module they just
added to ShopSite.

Apparently they are considering ways to integrate FedEx, USPS and UPS into
the same module.

This will be a sight for soar eyes when it comes to clients like mine who
utilize all services.

I posted earlier a conversation about this subject. Lexiconn is looking at
the ability to offer FedEx as well. We will see! Lexiconn is the best
provider out there right now for ShopSite users and I have pretty much tried
them all.

My e-mail from Lexiconn today indicates that they currently have the module
set up for use with USPS (with a great little demo webpage, too) but they
are waiting for an enhancement that they've requested from Shopsite for the
ability to allow this custom module to work when you also have UPS Shipping
enabled. They didn't mention anything about FedEx (but then I didn't ask,
as we don't use FedEx delivery).

Lexiconn has been a god-send to us as we had been suffering for years with
Verio hosting and techs who didn't know what they are doing (a simple
upgrade attempt from SS Pro 4.1 to 4.3 two summers ago left us without a
functioning website for over a week, with no apologies and no one to get on
the phone who knew what they were talking about). We made the switch to
Lexiconn based on feedback here. They've been nothing but prompt and
helpful beyond the call of duty as we upgrade from 4.2 to 6.1.3 with a site
made solely with Order Anywhere links on custom pages (all of which they
kept intact despite a cross-platform transfer). We also added a lot of
custom features (like a Quick Order form) and made use of more complicated
functions of Shopsite. We are in the process of going live today (waiting
for our domain name re-direction to propogate) and are quite pleased.

One downside (no fault of Lexiconn)--we had to disable UPS shipping because
it was forcing the default Ship-Via to a UPS service (our default is "Ship
for FREE by Mail/Ground"). Lexiconn has already submitted an Enhancement
request to Shopsite for us to be able to adjusst the default Ship-via.
We're anxiously awaiting news. That and the USPS module will make Shopsite
more functional than we ever imagined it would be.

It seems like Lexiconn and Shopsite are working hard to provide a
top-of-the-line e-commerce solution and i'm glad we were able to sign on
with them.
