HI:
Our web site is currently hosted by www.interland.com but we want to
move our web site to a new ISP due to all the problems we have had with
them. (They have had our site down twice last year and now our e-mail
server is on a Black list so we can't e-mail most customers who use AOL
, MSN, etc)

We need to host on a Windows NT platform
We are looking for 24 hr 800 number support
We need an ISP that really knows ShopSite

We have looked into: az-web.com, basislink.com and yourhost.com. Does
anyone use these ISPs or have any other suggestions.

We have been using Lexiconn.com for several years and highly recommend them.
Our site has never been down, they are very responsive and are very
knowlegeable about ShopSite. I don't recall what platform they use however.

Hi Shawn,
I too went through the horrors of hosting with Interland. I knew no
better until I was convinced to switch to Lexiconn. I have not had one
problem since I moved. The staff has been great to deal with. What more can
I say.

I think we used the NT platform due to features offered in the Windows
version of that the Unix verson does not offer. I think the feature is; After
you choose a product and you are in the shopping cart, we have provided
pulldown menus so the customer can choose colors, styles etc. When a customer
makes some choices the shopping cart knows to add additional cost to the

Order by choosing: ORDER & APPLY LOGO. In the shopping cart choose a bass

This is the only info I have thus far, and I know my client does not know
much more than these specs above that were part of the RFP they received in
order to bid.

That is in ShopSite SC Pro in ALL versions of ShopSite, UNIX included. A Linux or
other UNIX server with ShopSite will work just as good for you as NT, so no need
to limit yourself to only ShopSite resellers with NT.

P.S. v6 won't be available on NT/2000/XP for a few months, while it is available
for most UNIX platforms this month.

And that is assuming the 'Components' can be entered in as Products and sold
via the Shopping Cart as Products.

ShopSite is not a ticket tracking system or an invoice and billing system. It
is a shopping cart and storefront generation system.

NO. The point I am trying to make is that the UNIX version is for all
intents and purposes just like the NT version. ShopSite on UNIX will
look and work the same as your ShopSite does now on NT. FTP is the same
on UNIX. So you do not need to know anything more than you do now.

I also switched to Lexiconn a couple of months ago. I had a nightmare with
my former host. After a couple of months of on and off trouble, they went
down with a catastrophic failure in early December. (high shopping week!)
They had no idea when the would be back up! It was unbelievable- I was up an
running on Lexiconn within 24 hours and think they are the greatest. They
are professional and know shopsite inside and out.

Hi,

I am a little confused about shipping options. Is there a way to use
shopsite and UPS shipping so that it calculates by weight and zone? I do
not believe it is an option in Manager 5.0, correct?

I see in the manager version (5.0) there is a link to UPS Online Tools. Is
that a solution and once set up, does it work automatically to calculate
shipping while still inside the shopsite cart? Does it cost anything?

Does 6.0 offer a newer shipping solution?

I have also switched to Lexiconn (from Interland) and have never been
happier. Their knowledge of Shopsite and customer support is top-notch. I
highly recommend them.

NetNWeb is a great host. (www.netnweb.com) We've got three ShopSite stores
hosted there and they haven't had one minute of downtime yet! The servers
are Unix, but I would recommend UNIX anyway, because ShopSite works the same
on Unix and the updates for NT are always out way after the updates for
UNIX.

Anyway, we were paying $120/month (and we own our license) to our previous
host for our ShopSite Pro hosting, but at NetNWeb it's only $30/month! As
long as you own your own license you can get their basic e-commerce hosting
account.

I'd really reccommend checking them out...
