Problem with StoneEdge Order Manager...

I have recently installed order manager and configured it to our store. Let
me just say that it is a wonderful program and we're still finding new ways
that it saves us time and money...

However, several times when we download our order text file we get an error
when importing it into ShopSite...

The error says that "there is probably a problem wtih order number -" and
to delete the order and retry to import.

The first time it happened I didn't think too much about it for one order...
but it has since happened several times and it's not going to save me much
time if every 10 orders I have to enter one manually.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks in advance!

Brandon -

If you get that error repeatedly, it usually means that there is bad data in
one or more fields in the offending order. Also, the error message you
referred to usually points to a specific field that you can check. If you
send us a copy of one of the text files that has a bad order, we can
probably figure out what is causing the problem.

Thanks... For some reason we tried to re-import the bad orders today and
they imported just fine. It may have something to do with the fact that
we're on a dial-up connection... maybe the files got corrupted or
something...

Anyway, everything works great... thanks.

Hi Brandon,

We utilize the Stone Edge Order Manager, and we have received the error you
referred to in your email as well. Although, not nearly as much as you
mentioned, but it does happen approximately 1 out of every 25 times during
import. We have found that, oddly enough, if you re-import the orders into
the system again it works fine, and the error does not repeat itself. The
next time it happens, before you delete the order, try importing the same
file again. I have reported this oddity to Barney before, but they have not
been able to determine the problem.

Overall, I would have to agree with you, that the Order Manager is a great
time saving component to Shopsite order processing.

Lonny
