2nd Day Shipping coming out 0

Hi All,

Strange thing happens on my site. Every now and again, a second day air
shipping charge will come out as '0'. It often happens on items over $100,
but not all of them. Here's one:

http://www.rexart.com/bestadjustableeasels.html#1178

Here's another item that's working fine:

http://www.rexart.com/beststudioeasels.html#1165

I compared the information on both of them and they seemed the same. Both
have their weight set to 1, etc.

Perhaps it's something simple I'm missing - not sure. Anyone else encounter
this?

We're using Pro 5.0.1

Thanks,

Katrina

I think this is probably the same problem Chris was having a month or so ago
(see the thread called Shipping Problems from 11/27 and 11/28).

I recereated the problem by adding just the product called "Best Sandia Easel"
(price 199.99) to the cart. Both Ground and Second Day shipping values were
0.00. When I added another product like "Best Casters for Best Easels" (price
26.36) to the cart then shipping price for Second Day of 35.00 appears.

So the problem is that your cut-offs for your shipping table fields are in
whole dollar amounts, or whole weight amounts, and the dollar amounts or weight
amounts are falling in between the round numbers so that they don't fall in any
category.

For example, you are most likely using Shipping by Currency method, and you
have your shipping table set up to charge a certain price for amounts from 0 to
199 dollars, and then from 200 to 299 dollars, or something like that. The
problem here is that 199.99 doesn't fall into either of these categories.

If you are using Shipping by Currency then you need to set your currency ranges
to include all possible amounts, ie 0 to 199.99 then 200 to 299.99, etc.

If you are using Shipping by weight, you need to do the same thing, only you
just need to get as specific as the weights you use for your products get. So
if all your products have a whole number weight value, then whole numbers will
work in your shipping table, but the minute you add a decimal value for weight
for some product, then your weight tables will not be effective when ordering
that product if it falls between the parameters of your weight tables.
