It is possible to hide search keywords in one of the description fields
using HTML comment tags. Example:
<!--- binoculars, gifts, accessories, etc. --->
You can even embed special words and make forms to search "Categories" or
"Price Ranges"... see below
<!--- cat_binoculars, cat_gifts, cat_accessories -->
You could make a form that searched for that word "cat_binoculars" in a
pulldown menu. Since it is very unique... only the products containing that
text would pull up.
These tags won't show up in your descriptions unless people look in the
HTML.
You could also use the tags with a third party search engine like
www.atomz.com - I've used it on several other sites I've developed. It works
really well for content searches, but I've never used it for product search
functions.

Hi Matt,
Actually, the search is set up to only search PRODUCTS, not pages. So, if
the word "necklace" or "necklaces" is not in the name, SKU, product
description, or more info text, that product will not come up. There are
some third party search programs you can implement and I also believe that
the new version of shopsite coming out soon will have a more advanced
search, although I can't tell you exactly how it will work. Try going to
Preferences - Search Settings and making sure all boxes are checked.
Good luck,
Katrina

Hi I have built a store using ShopSite® SC Pro 5.0.0.1
The search doesn't work well at all.
http://www.vanessa-s.comIf I do a search for crystal only 3 products show up. If I do a search
for
Binoculars only 3 products show up. If I do a search for necklace..
nothing
comes up yet there are necklaces.
I have all the pages set to be indexed by the search. I have the search
settings to display 50.
I am just out of ideas.
Please help if you can.
Thanks.
Matt
