Duplicate orders in Shopsite SC Pro 5.0.1

To all:
I was running shopsite 4.1 and we were getting shopping cart locks (database
locked error message) which would disable our shopping cart system. We
upgraded to 5.0.1 (Shopsite SC Pro) and no longer get the shopping cart
locked error. However, we have been consistently getting duplicate orders
from our customers. The orders have been about 2-6 seconds apart (according
to the date stamp on the orders). This is really irritating, since we have
customers who are worried about the duplicate order, and the fact that we
have to follow up and notify the customer that they will not receive the 2nd
order. We use "Order Manager" from Stoneedge, and it automatically makes a
packing list of items to pick, but this is incorrect since it has the
duplicate orders in it.

I have asked my Shopsite VAR if they can fix the problem (about 2-3 months
ago) but so far nothing has been resolved. I asked several customers about
the platform they are using and browser version but no one had any unusual
hardware and software.

Has anyone had any problems with duplicate orders? and if so what did you do
to fix it?

We were running 4.1 and NEVER had a duplicate order for over a year. We
started getting duplicates in Shopsite 5.01 from the 1st month of upgrade.
We have been running 5.0.1 for approx 4 months and get duplicates all the
time.
