Cannot Publish

[Switch Hits]

For the past few days I have not been able to Publish my changes either with
the Publish tab or through the Utilities/Publish/Regenerate. It starts the
process but then stalls almost immediately. The changes do not take effect.
Also, my search function is not returning any results. All this is very
new and sudden. Any ideas where I should be looking? Thanks.
