Use & Value of CVV

We use Nova as our charge card clearinghouse. They tell us that CVVs don't
mean anything to them and that there is nothing in their process that
requires them.

I'd like to know how others are using them and if they are useful in
preventing fraud.

Hi Larry,

I use PayFuse provided by First National MerchantsSolutions.
I have not cofigured shopsite to do automatic processing with them yet
but I know that are able to verify the cvv2 on visa and mc.
not able to check cvv2 on discover.
I don't know about amex.
