Option Pricing

Postby Switch Hits » Thu Nov 08, 2001 12:15 pm

All right, this one has been happening way too often lately. I have
different sizes or options, each with a different price. However, sporadic
orders are coming in with items priced at only the added on difference
($4.00 in example below) between the base price and the option price.

S-Single Toggle $16.50
D-Double Toggle $20.50;4

I just sold a double toggle for $4.00 -- no good because this is what the
customer sees and what gets authorized to Authorize.Net.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which products this happens
to though I just uploaded this product yesterday. But everything looks good
in the backend. Any ideas?

Thanks.

....and further more, items with no options are selling for $00.00. I now
see where all these items were just entered over the past few days. Again,
everything looks fine in the product back end. The price is there, options
where appropriate. Mmmm????

Hi Jimmy,
at first glance, it looks like a separator problem (either comma or dot) or
localization problem (in other languages, your seperator might be a decimal
point) - check your localization settings. This is just an idea, maybe Loren
has more insights?

Joachim,

Thanks, but that doesn't seem to be the case. My host and I both checked
various orders and the products in question looked O.K. in the backend. My
host forwarded it to ShopSite support for further investigation. I hope
they find something soon because today 2 more orders came in with no price
products. Mmmm????

Jimmy,

It doesn't have anything to do with your pull-down options, the On Sale Price
for those items are set to 0.00. To take the items off sale, remove the On Sale
Price (suggested) OR uncheck the On Sale Toggle (by default this is always on
because if there is no On Sale Price the sale isn't going anyway).

To find all the products that have an On Sale Price of 0.00, go to Products,
choose 'Sale Amount' and 'contains' in the pull-downs, and then put 0.00 in the
text field and hit the Search button.

Then I would suggest that you choose all these items, Power Edit, power edit
'universally' and remove the '0.00' text from the On Sale Price field and Save.
This should take all the items that were on sale for 0.00 off sale.

Thanks. Silly me. I must have made the error early and then compounded the
problem when I power edited all the new products I entered last week.
