FTP Image

Postby Switch Hits » Thu Nov 08, 2001 11:48 am

I'm uploading images with WS_FTP95 on Windows 2000 and the loading has been
getting stuck and crashing lately. A few questions:

Will images with the same file name overwrite existing images or do I need
to delete images from my backend media file first when they have the same
name?

I just uploaded 100 images which are interspersed throughout 2,500 images.
Is it safe to RESET IMAGE ATTRIBUTES to all of my images. It would take a
bunch of time to hunt and peck all the new images for Resetting as
suggestion in the Help section.

Is there better FTP software I should invest in?

Thanks.

Hi Jimmy,
we do this all the time and do a reset of the image attributes. Never had a
problem with the reset. As to your FTP upload, I think it's overwriting the
images on your server unless they are protected (which depends on the server
OS) - try to upload a single file with the same name and see if it changes.

p.s. WS_FTP is a great tool - it's just that the FTP protocol sucks
