we have 500 products. Do we have to create 500 pages?

Postby Frank Tan » Fri May 21, 2004 5:29 pm

Hello,

I just started using ShopSite. Our typical product page would contain
one main production and a few related items on the side.
We have around 500 products. Looks to me that we have to create one HTML
page for each product, total 500 html pages. :-(
I know we can use template. but copying 500 times still doesn't sound right.
Can anyone tell me if it is only way to do it, or there is a better way?

Thanks a lot!
Frank

You can create the information for the pages and products in an
application like Excel and save it as a tab delimited file. You can
then upload the information into Shopsite under Utilities > Database >
Upload.

To get the basic format for the information needed, create a few pages
and a few products within ShopSite, Then used the Utilities > Database
download to create a text file that has the appropriate headings for
database fields. You can open this file in a text editor or Excel,

QuattroPro, Access etc and enter in the information that you want for
each page or product. If you don't need certain fields they can be
deleted and only pertinant information entered and uploaded.
