Related Products.

I am looking for feedback on the related products feature from others.

I have been trying this feature out, and did not like the fact that when you
add an related produt to the shopping cart, the title of the item
as shown in the cart has both the parent's product name, and the sub
product's name in one line. My fear is that a customer may think they are
getting both items.

Any comments on this?

Also I did not like the fact that the order button for the parent product
appears in the same grouping as the sub product. It would have been nice
if the add button for the parent was shown in the same way as if it did not
have a sub product. Pictures for sub products would have been nice too.

Gary,

If you are using ShopSite 7 you can go to Commerce Setup > Order System

Shopping cart and check the box "Display subproducts without parent
name:" to disable the parent product name showing with the subproduct

in the shopping cart. This also removes it from the search screen by
the subproduct. (this is also possible in 6.3 but requires manual
editing of a file)

Using custom templates you can put the add button with the parent
product and you could put a picture with the sub products.
