Associate Marketing page Vs Store

Hi All:

I want to give Associates the ability to send their referals to a marketing
page before they click to buy.

This marketing page will most likely be hosted on my site.

So the Q is: Can an Associate -- using the unique Associate link I
generate -- send people first to a marketing page hosted on my site, where
they will be tracked and credited to that Associate should they go to an
order page?

In other words, once they use the unique link generated by Add Associate,
will they be tracked if they don't go to a SS page first?

As long as the go through the Associate link they will be tracked (if
they complete an order), even if the landing page they end up at is not
a ShopSite page.
