E-Mail Receipts

Postby Chris » Wed Oct 15, 2003 7:19 am

Hi,

Is there any way (in SS 6 PRO) to change the field headings in the
e-mail receipt independent of the corresponding headings in the shopping
cart? For example, our "Billing Address" text field reads,

"(Please type the name and address to which your credit card statement
is mailed.)

HELP US TO PREVENT FRAUD! We use Address Verification to ensure the
validity of our orders. If your billing address does not match the
information on file with your credit card company, your order may be
delayed or declined.

(Required fields in RED. Please complete all required fields.)"

When people receive their receipt, some of them e-mail us back thinking
we're asking them to confirm or correct the information, even though
nothing in the receipt should be in red (sine the e-mail receipts are
plain text, right?)

If this isn't possible, I think it should be in the next release.

Thanks!

Chris

The possible solutions that I can think of are:

1) Instead of putting your message in the field name place it at the top of
the billing screen.
2) Use a javascript pop-up message (or image) to inform your customers about
AVS. ShopSite strips out HMTL/JavaScript before sending the e-mail receipt.
3) Turn off ShopSite's e-mail receipt and create your own using ShopSite
Pro's Order API feature.
