In the knowledgebase I searched for 'custom template bug' and selected
'All' from the keywords pulldown and I got 5 hits, the second of which,
S03951 (ShopSite 4.3: "if" in the text fields of custom templates /
problems with descriptions or more info page (customparser.pl)),
describes this problem.
Anyway, as mentioned in the solution, there is a patch on the
ftp.shopsite.com anonymous ftp site. You can find it by going to the
site, cd to patch/v4.3/Your_OS/ and get the file customparser.pl.
It is also fixed in v5.0.1, so getting your host to upgrade you to the
latest will also fix the problem.

Thanks for the reply Loren. I actually figured it out a bit after posting.
This is the second time this has happened (although not exact). The current
problem stems from 'if' in the more info text. The prior problem, stemmed
from the word 'TIF' (name of a manufacturer we carry. It took me a bit to
make re-evaluate 'tif' as 'if' and then bingo.
I have worked around this with character codes replacing the 60 odd
occurances of it in our database. I am not sure how much use the custom
templates receives from other customers, but that is one doozy of a bug
IMHO. I did not find any mention of this in the 4.3 documentation or in the
knowledge base. It should be obvious.
Are there any other keywords that should be avoided?
Any SS solutions for this in the pipeline?
Thanks
