PRODUCT.graphic as a link

When I specify [-- PRODUCT.graphic --] in a template, it has the proper
attributes, including BORDER=0. However, if I put the image inside a
link. <A HREF="...">[-- PRODUCT.graphic --]</A> Shopsite no longer
supplies the BORDER=0, though the other attributes are correctly
generated. The result looks like #$^&.

How do I force the border=0 to be generated when this the image is used
as a link?
