It may seem late...we've been mailing hard gift certificates but
some customers want emailed gift certificates. Any software or
program recommendations?

We (www.audiobooksonline.com) have been emailing gift
certificates for a few
years now. We assign the gift certificate the same number as
the ShopSite
order number that it was ordered on. The instructions in our
email gift
certificate tells the recipient to reference this gift
certificate number
when they place their order. The recipient's order, if they
place their
order online, gets assigned a new ShopSite order number,
therefore there is
no confusion. Once a gift certificate amount gets used up, it
can't be used
any more.
This has worked well for us.

We too assign the ShopSite number, StoneEdge Order Manager
number, and the date
on the certificate so it's easy to track. As a subsequent
question, what format do you use to email the gift
certificate...do you have something pretty or just a simple email
message? I prefer pretty.
