Affiliate linking to search results

Anyone know if this will work on Linux Shopsite 6.1 to have an affiliate link to some search results and get affiliate credit?

No, that will not work, the productsearch.cgi does not record the
associate info. Associates need to come through the associate link,
which comes through ref.cgi.
