One Coupon at a time

Is there a way to keep customers from using multiple coupons at checkout. We
run various different specials at a time. What we have had happen is
customers will use the coupon link from our newsletter and while they are
shopping they will find run across a coupon special on select products and
they use it too. We would love to see some kind of message that states "one
coupon per order" when a customer tries to do this. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
