How to do 800x600 left justified pages?

I am using shopsite 6.0 Pro. I have chosen the "lefty" theme.

What I am trying to do is get our store screen size to an 800 x 600 or so,
and for the entire page to be positioned to the left side of the screen. I
want to do this so that any customer, regardless of screen size and
resolution, can have a good experience at our store.

I was showing our site to a friend, on his computer, and due to his screen
settings, he had to scroll left and right on every page to view the store.
I have the feeling there are a lot of potential customers out there similar
to him that don't understand the issue, and will not know how to change
their settings, or simply do not want to.

Here are some sights (not merchant sites necessarily, just sites) to give
you an example of what I am trying to imitate:

I want to get the text in the Text 1, 2 and 3 fields to be left justified,
and for that text to be close to the Lefty navigation bar. I have tried the
left justify setting, but from what I can tell, that has no effect on where
the text is positioned on the page. When I choose the page width tool to go
to a narrower page, it just ends up centering the text in the middle of the
page, with a very large left margin between the lefty navigation bar and the
text.

I have played with the blank page layout option, but still does not appear
to be able to do what I would like.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you're seeing the page expand with horizontal scroll
bars at 800px screen resolution due to the ribbon banner being
used on the top of the page.

At 800px screen resolution, there is an actual viewing area about
760 pixels. The difference being scroll bar area and reserved
spacing, etc. in the browser. Your top banner is 760px width on
its own and is displayed on only a portion of the page, to the
right of your navigation column which is about 200px width.

You would need to rework/resize your graphic to use the layout
style you're using in order to have the page display properly at
800x600px.
