Black Product Backround

I started using a demo store to preview changes, and yesterday it worked fine with the Line Sections>Woods theme, products looked great. I changed it to another template to preview, and then changed it back to Line Sections and now all the product backrounds are black. The picture shows up, but in order to read any info/see drop down menu you have to highlight with the mouse. Any thoughts? I am using all the defaults provided.

correction: you can see add to cart buttons and drop down menu, but no product text.

Did you just change the template (Products > Edit Product Layout) or did you change the theme (Preferences > Themes)?
The product templates are not necessarily compatible from theme to theme. So if you just changed a product template (or a page template) it may not have all of the settings defined in the css, include files etc that are needed for that particular template. The best thing to do if you are having a problem (in a demo store) is to go to the Preferences > Themes screen and reselect or change the theme which will reset all of the colors, templates etc so things will look better. Once it is looking better you can experiment with various options to make sure they work before you do a wholesale change.
Note that it is always a good idea to backup your store before you do any major changes so you can get back to a known state easily.

I changed the entire theme, via the path you specified, which yesterday worked perfectly with everything. I have my whole store backed up and just re-uploaded everything and restored it to where it was. I then tried to change the theme again and the same issue with the black backrounds is happening. I dont understand what i could be doing wrong since it worked fine once.

I generally use Firefox, which worked fine yesterday. I just tried this in explorer and it worked, but still not in firefox.

It looks fine for me in Firefox, no black background. Your browser probably has the site cached and is displaying the cached version instead of refreshing it. Try closing down all of your Firefox browser windows and then restart Firefox and see if that fixes the problem.
The text that you have configured on Preferences > Layout Settings > Footer needs to be cleaned up. That html is affecting the text colors displayed in the brown area at the bottom of the page. There should not be <meta> tags in this field since it is put in the <body> of the html page and <meta ...> data should all be in the <head> section of the html page.
