FedEx Shipping Configuration

Hello,

So on this site: morganhillfarmvt.com, I have a small store setup using Order Anywhere buttons. The client has a FedEx account so we entered his information and configured FedEx accordingly. But we are curious as to why two packages cost exactly twice as much to ship and three costs triple the shipping rate and so forth. These rates are drawn from FedEx I guess, but is that something I should discuss with FedEx or are there some configuration settings I should check.

If you have configured a package type for each product then it is assumed that that each product must be shipped in its own container. Thus each product will be a separate item for shipping and the charge would be the same for each package.

If a package type is not defined on the products (Product > Edit Product > info > Shipping and Download Information section) so that only the Ship by weight only (dimensions not used) radio button is selected, then products will be combined into a single package until the maximum Package weight that is configured on Commerce Setup > Shipping > FedEx > Configure is reached.

Also make sure that your store is running the latest version of ShopSite (11sp2r5 as of 3/6/2013) to make sure you have all the current fixes for known issues.

You were right on the money. Had selected FedEx box for each product. Now things are working properly. Thanks. You guys really are the best.
