Associates question

Postby jlodwick » Sat May 12, 2012 9:45 am

I have a couple questions regarding the Associates option. I have the Pro version of ShopSite and I would like to know if there is a way when the customer registers they could automatically get an Associate URL. Also is there a way to have ShopSite give the customer a one time use Discount Code which gives them a certain amount off their next order if someone they refer makes a purchase?

Thanks,
Jeff

The ShopSite Associate feature and the Customer registration feature are not tied together in any way so there isn't a way to give an associate link when a person registers as a shopper in you store. You can assign a Coupon to a customer registration group and have that group be the default group so any new users who register would get the coupon added to their cart. As long as they remain in that group they would get the coupon each time they visit the store, so if you only want them to get the coupon the first time you would need to move them to a different customer registration group after their initial order. There is no way to move them automatically.

ShopSite has a "one time use" coupon but it is exactly as the name implies, it can only be used once, not once for each shopper. There is no way to create a coupon that can only be used once by each shopper that uses it. The only way to do something like that would be to assign the coupon to a group and assign the shoppers to that group. Then once they have used the coupon move them to a different group.
