Shipping USPS error message

In trying to get rates from US postal, I always getting the following error message:
"USPS Shipping: An XML response was not returned from USPS."

I have registered with USPS and registered it in the shipping configuration.

Any suggestions?

Did you request that USPS activate your account? When they initially give you an account it is in test mode. You have to request that they make it active before it will work.

After getting USPS to change my profile to go to the production system, it works find.
