Cannot find Product Id number in V11, use for search

I have been using V9 and using the product id that is shown after searching for a product, finding it, clicking on the image, and being taken to the actual product with a link like..... storename.com/products.html#333 that brings the actual product to the top of the screen ( page with dozens of products)
Now I'm have Revved up to V11. Now search only gives me a pointer to and existing "more info page" for that product, or to a product pages without the actual product ID like... storename.com/products-ss3.html. Clicking no the image gives me nothing. I have to click on the page shown for the product to get the search string.

And then it only takes me to page !!! Where can I find product number??
Please tell me I just have to set a flag somewhere...

What templates are you using for search templates and the page and product templates? (Preferences > Search Settings > Search Layout), and (Pages > Edit Page Layout) and (Products > Edit Product Layout). Are the templates ones provided by ShopSite or are the created or modified by you or some one other than ShopSite?

Did you change the setting for search destination for the products (Edit Product Info screen)

When you view the source of a page with products do you find code like this.

What product level of ShopSite do you have? Pro or Manager.

I do find a number at the start of each product. Example.. <a name="541"></a>
Am using ....<meta name="generator" content="ShopSite Pro 11 sp1 r2 (sc - Flex-Build-11.sst)">
Theme name is Burst ( is that the same as template name?? )
I have made no changes to search destination..

Sounds like you switched to a new theme after upgrading to v11, since the Burst theme was not in v9. Different themes/templates will display the search results differently.

Anyway, an easy way to get the product id numbers for all of your products is go to the Products menu, click List All Products, then view the source of the resulting page and find the list of products in it. The select value for each product is its product ID, so you should see the big list of all of them in the source of this page.

I therefore assume that the search screen theme is linked to the product page theme.
And I further assume that the theme I am using causes the search results to point to a page, rather than a product.
Does that make sense???
And I assume there are other themes that DO allow searches to individual projects.
Is there a way I can see which themes support "search to products" rather than "search to page".??

If you want the functionality of clicking on the page link on the search results page and having it take you to the exact place of the product on the page change the Preferences > Search Settings > Search layout > Link Template Over ride to the "search_link" template.
