Banners and boxes

Postby Paula » Mon Mar 26, 2012 9:16 pm

Some of the templates show a graphic box on the sample, but don't appear when you choose that template. For example, the Simplicity template has a yellow box with a tee-shirt and some text. Is this something I can find within ShopSite or do we create this on our own? And if so, do you have any pointers for creating these? Thanks.

That is an example of a banner graphic for a store. You can create your own banner graphic, upload the image to ShopSite, then go to Pages > Edit Page Content, and select your image as the page banner graphic. There are many free online and downloadable image editing applications. I typically use PhotoShop, so I am not sure which graphics applications online are the best, but there is an online PhotoShop option (http://www.photoshop.com/) and I have often heard of ones such as http://www.aviary.com/ and http://www.drpic.com/.

Thank you, Lauren. I have PhotoShop Elements so will take a look to see what I can create with that. Will also look at designers.

I am looking for where to change the color of the Add to Cart button universally. I found where you go to change text and link colors, background colors, but not Add to Cart colors. I also found where you change the Add to Cart image. Is it possible to change the color of the Add to Cart image, or if I can only change the image, where do I find these images? Thanks.

First change it under Preferences > Store Text > Store Pages. There is an add to cart section there where you can add text or use your own image. All future products that you add will use the setting that you have here. Then, for all your existing products, you can go to Products > highlight all of your products > PowerEdit, and in the "Layout" side, select "Add To Cart Button" and "Global" at the bottom (radio buttons). Then you can edit the one add to cart field and it will change it for all of your products at the same time.

If you don't have your own buttons, just want to change the color of the buttons, there are a few more colors of buttons that look the same as the ones you have now. You can just change "yellow" in the button image URL to "pink" "purple" "blue" "orange" etc. Below are links to the images so you can see their colors.
