Advanced searches for coupon product inclusion

We are working on a number of coupons for upcoming sales. We are targeting specific product groups (boxers, for example). In the Product selection area, is there a way to do an advanced search?

In this example.. we want to include ALL boxer shorts, but not boxer briefs and only men's, not youth. I cannot figure out how to exclude the words "youth" and "brief" in the search, so I am manually going into the search results and de-selecting items we do not want. Is there a better way?

At the current time there is no way to do exclusion in the product searches. So the easiest way is how you are currently doing it.

If you use some of the custom fields to contain specific data about the product you could do searches on those fields. So you could for example put shorts, mens, boxers or briefs youth shorts etc. in Extra product field 1 and then search on extra product field 1 for mens or boxers and that may get you finer definition to your searches.
