How to Link to a external website from Shopsite

I am trying to link from a Shopsite Page to an external URL.
I have tried the a href in the Link Info Name category as suggested here but its not taking me out of shopsite.

For example, I want to link from shopsite to this page: http://pinterest.com/annemh/blue-nautical-kids-decor/
Any suggestions on how to do this would be very much appreciated!!!

What's the URL to your ShopSite store? If you have a ShopSite Manager or ShopSite Pro store, version 10 sp 2 or version 11, you can setup the global navigation feature. With the global navigation feature you can choose to link to one of your ShopSite pages, a non-ShopSite page (which is what you would select for this page), the view cart page or not link at all. A video tutorial on setting up the global navigation is found here:

You could also add the link into any of the text fields for a page with HTML.

I have Shopsite 10 and don't think I have the Global Nav capability.
I am actually really frustrated that the hosting company I use doesn't have the latest version of Shopsite. I have found SO many limitations!

See the Green and Brown link. The bottom copy links to the correct page, but there are two issues with that: The image doesn't click through AND it has two headers which i don't want.

It looks like your store is using custom templates, so I can't give exact help because I don't know how the templates would work with what I say. What I would recommend is to use the HTML editor and just add the links in manually. You can go to Pages > Pinterest > Edit Page Content, and enter the following code into the page 1 field below your text that you have already entered. This should (again, not sure how the template styles will effect this) display the same (or very similar) to what you have now, but with the links linking to the correct Pinterest page. I have also added the target=_blank so that the Pinterest links open in a new window and the customer can easily find their way back to your website. I think that this is very helpful because of sites such as Pinterest.com (or social sites such as Facebook), customers tend to get distracted and move onto other links and may not remember how they got their in the first place.

After you add the code I provide below, you can then go back in later (or in the future to add new links) and edit the code by going to Pages > Pinterest > Edit Page Content, and clicking on the [Editor] link above the text field (make sure you have the HTML editor turned on by going to Utilities > HTML Editor > and turn it on).

Lauren - this is SO fantastic! Thank you so much for your help!
I will be needing to add more "Color" links out to Pinterest so when I do I don't need to add a page for each I simply need to copy and update each code to reflect the new info. is that correct? I don't need a page right?
