Add 1 item to every cart

I've searched the forums, but can't seem to find a way to add 1 item to every cart. Possible?

I don't under stand what you mean. Each store only has one cart.

Are you meaning that when a shopper comes to your store you want it to already have an item in the cart?
If so I don't believe that is possible with the normal ShopSite features.

If the customer added anything to the cart, it would add an additional item, a bonus gift or something. Also it would check to see if that item was already in the cart so it won't add another.

There is no such feature built into ShopSite. The only way to add multiple items to the cart at the same time is to use the Multi add to cart type template for pages and product shown in the online help.

But that would not do any checking to see if the same item is in the cart more than once.
