Ship To Zip Code & PayPal

Spent a great deal of time on the phone with a customer who kept getting an error that the Zip Code entered in the Shopping Cart had changed and he was to return top the cart.

I walked him thru the process of emptying the cart, adding the product, entering in his Ship To Zip code, hitting recalculate, then check-out. He then chose PayPal for payment and proceeded to PayPal. He has multiple credit card accounts on PayPal. He said he chose the card he wanted to use, which completed his shipping address information with the Zip code that matched his entry in the cart. Yet when he submitted the transaction for payment he was brought back to the SS check-out with the error above.

I asked him to be very certain that he had not typed an alpha "O" instead of a zero or had a space before or after the zip code. None of these were found.

Any thoughts?

Which Paypal payment method are you using, PayPal Website Payments Standard, PayPal Express Checkout, PayPal Payflow Pro version 4, PayPal Website Payments Pro.
What version of ShopSite are you using? 8, 9, 10, 10sp1, 10sp2
What product level of ShopSite are you using? Pro, Manager, Starter
What template/ theme are you using for the store? Is it a ShopSite provided one or a custom one?
Do you have Tax by ZIP enabled?

I just tried it in a test store using the PayPal sandbox server and it seems to work ok. Here is what I did.
In the cart I entered my local zip code which was not the one on my test paypal account.
I selected PayPal as the payment method and clicked Checkout.
I was taken to paypal and specified the payment come from my test paypal account.
I clicked on the make payment button/continue button (I don't remember exactly what it was called)
I was redirected back to the shopping cart with a message that the Shipto zipcode from PayPal did not match the one previously entered. The zipcode on the shopping cart screen was updated to the one that was on the paypal account.
I clicked the Checkout button again and was taken to PayPal again and repeated the above steps but this time I was taken to the ShopSite billing screen with the PayPal information displayed.

The zipcode that had not matched was the Shipping Address zipcode. But once I resubmitted with that zip matching the Ship To zip of my PayPal account ShipTo address it worked. (Note: You have to click the Submit button on the ShopSite billing.cgi screen to finalize the order)

So was your shopper looking at the Credit card billing zipcode or a Shipto address zipcode assigned to that card? It must be the ShipTo address zip not the Credit card billing Zip.
