Shopping cart SSL warning - but not using SSL?

Postby kepico » Mon Dec 13, 2010 9:37 am

Recently I updated to Shopsite ver 10 sp2r2 (from sp1r1) - now when opening an order invoice or packing slip I have a warning that says "Your shopping cart is not taking orders securely; you should use SSL security". The problem is that when I print this slip up I do not want my customers to think I am using unsecure processing so I have to cut it off, prior to updating to sp2r2 I did not have this warning.

I am not taking credit card payments at my site (I use Paypal & Google checkouts) my "Credit Card security" everything is "high" because I am using offsite processing. So the question is why am I getting this warning if I am not using any onsite processing of orders and if it is just telling me that I am "not taking orders securely" is there a way I can remove this warning from at least the printed invoice\slips?

EDIT: I have "Do not store Credit Cards" under credit card storage.

Do you have a secure certificate for your site or does you host have a shared secure certificate that you can use? If so configure the setting under Preferences >Hosting services so that those url are used. That will remove the warning from the backoffice screen so it won't display when printing. That will also make other backoffice screens which contain password information secure so your passwords won't be as likely to be compromised.

Another way would be to add a style to the Orders > Configure > Heading area for the Order and/or Packing slip to not display the warning
Something like
<style type="text/css">
.warning {
display:none;
}
</style>
