tag switches?

After changing the text to describe the "Title" field , for use for a membership # ,

the only problem left is that the form tag "Name" shows up to the left of the box title box , and in testing , it confuses people, and instead of putting in their member number , they enter their full name.

Tried other templates, and looked at editing them, and it doesn't seem I can edit out, or clear out the tag / form name , "Name" .

Is there a way to put a switch in the for [-- CR_Name --] that would tell it not to write the "Name" label ?

That is why you need to turn off the field in 'Check Out' and hard code the input. So it is not display as part of the Name input from [-- CR_NAME --]

You have to turn off the Title field in the 'Check Out' layout Billing Address and hard code the input field. If you do not do this, it will be display by [-- CR_NAME --] as part of the Name input sequence.

The other option is to eliminate the NAME label for the Store Preferred Text.

tnx, and I apperciated your solution, but about 1/3 of it is past my pay grade, and not sure how to implement.

When I get canned mods for php and a like, I know enough to go in and change the php in the files and not screw it up, but as far as really customizing and or 1/2 customizing a semi finished piece of code, I'm not there.

This is my 1st time working with SS, so it's like drinking from a firehose, and very deep (to a newbie to it).
Took me a bit to find where the preferred text for Name was... but found it,

we're a .org with limited resources... so I'm doing all of this to help out (pay grade= 0 ).
Their web presence in the past has been very poor, and they've wanted to get a ton of stuff online, including membership, so we're finally making it come together and need to stretch funds every possible way.
